Timelapse commute from Seaview Wellington to Kāpiti Coast
Timelapse commute along State Highway 1
Filmed on 28 April 2021, this is a typical evening commute from Port Road, Seaview, Lower Hutt, Wellington to Waikanae, Kāpiti Coast. Our route follows State Highway 2 (SH2) then onto SH1, along the coast road.
Transmission Gully roadworks construction can be seen at Tawa and Mackays Crossing. Due to be opened in late 2020, Transmission Gully was delayed in part by the Covid 19 coronavirus, the new expressway road is now scheduled to be opened in late 2021.
In total, the entire timelapse video from Seaview to Waikanae takes about 7 minutes. However, in reality, the real commute took about 105 minutes.
